Hello. I am Nami. I am a high school student.
I started going to Clear Skies English School when I was an elementary school student. At first, I was very nervous because I did not have any confidence in my English, and I am shy, so I did not speak first by myself. I was sad, but I decided to try to speak many times and study hard. It was not easy. But little by little, my heart moved, and I felt happy when I spoke English with my classmates and Michelle.
I still make mistakes and I feel tired to follow my classmates many times but I enjoy going to Clear Skies and now I have more confidence. So I feel thankful for my classmates and my teacher, Michelle. Thank you.

Hello, I’m Katsunari Fujii. I’m a high school student.
I started to go to Clear Skies when I was twelve years old. At first, I was afraid because other students had started going there when they were elementary school students, but the more I went there, the more interesting it was for me.
I went to another English school before I started going to Clear Skies. I think Clear Skies is quite different from the English school that I had been to. For example, in this school, I can have a lot of conversations and discussions with my classmates, but in the other school, I didn’t have them very often. The conversations and discussions have made my English better.
In Clear Skies, I can feel my English skills getting better. When I went to Britain, I didn’t have any serious problem communicating with people there because I’ve been learning English at Clear Skies.
Now I think I’m lucky to be able to go to Clear Skies!

Hello. My name is Kirika Miura. I’m a high school student.
When
I was six years old, I began coming to Clear Skies English School.
At first, I was a bad girl. While I attended the class, I kept speaking
something in Japanese with my classmates. I remember that I was
very sad and disappointed because Michelle got angry at me.
However, I grew up and I can speak English much better. I never
thought I didn’t like English, but I always think speaking English
is hard for me. I’m not good at expressing my ideas and opinions
very well. If I didn’t go to this school, I couldn’t do discussions with
my classmates.
At Clear Skies, we have a lot of debates and
discussions. All of my classmates encourage me. Everyone likes to
speak English and they look happy to study English. They speak
English very well so I must study hard. I want to speak more
fluently. With my classmates and Michelle’s help, learning and
practicing English is fun.
I’m very glad I could meet such wonderful
people.
I want to express my thanks to my classmates and Michelle from
the bottom of my heart. I will continue doing my best!

Hello. My name is Riho. I'm in the tenth grade.
I started going to Clear Skies when I was six years old.
I learned English through playing many games when I was an elementary school student. I could
speak English better without even noticing.
Since I was a junior high school student I have discussions
with my classmates so often. I cannot say my opinion always in my daily life so it is good chance to
practice saying my opinion. Then little by little I could say it and now I can enjoy discussing many different things with my classmates. I also enjoyed the school parties. I learned many things about American culture that are different from Japan. Michelle often tells us about American culture.
I think if I didn't study English in Clear Skies, I may be weak in English so I'm proud of learning English here. Michelle always smiles and loves her students. I'll continue to talk with my classmates and Michelle. I want to speak English more fluently.

Hello, my name is Chie. I’m a high school student.
I’ve been going to Clear Skies English School for almost eight years. When I was an elementary school student, I liked the Easter Party the best! I still remember it was really fun.
In my junior high school days, I began to study English (writing, reading, and learning vocabulary) more deeply in Clear Skies. At first it felt difficult, but thanks to Clear Skies, I could study English easily at my junior high school.
Now I want to study abroad, learn other languages, and use English in my future work. Clear Skies gave me these dreams!

Hello, my name is Tomoe. I'm an eleventh grade student.
I started to go to Clear Skies English School when I was a fourth grade student. First, I played some games in English with my classmates and our teacher, Michelle. I really enjoyed that. So I didn't feel scared or afraid to speak English.
Also, I enjoyed some parties.
In these parties I could learn many things about American culture like Halloween and Christmas. I really liked to sing Christmas songs. Michelle taught us a little dance with songs. These were so easy that we could do it.
The amazing thing was that through singing I learned a lot of grammar and good intonation. Because of this experience, I could sing English songs in chorus club when I was a junior high student.
And now, I like to listen to Western music. So I still enjoy English.
I'm thankful to Michelle for encouraging my interest in English.

Hello,
I'm an eleventh grade student. I started going to Clear Skies when I was eight years old. In those days, I learned the basics of English through playing games and I had many conversations with my teacher and classmates in English.
In my junior high school days, the chance for me to express my own opinion increased. I often discussed things from my textbook with my classmates in the class. I think these lessons were very useful. Now, by expressing my opinions in front of people, I can not only learn English but also create my ideas and understand myself better.
I enjoy learning from a native English speaker. I like talking with her and she often tells me about American culture and daily life. It is very exciting. She is a very fascinating woman and I respect her very much. I'm really enjoying my classes now and
looking forward to talking with Michelle every week. -Asuka, 2012 July |

Hello! My name is Natsumi.
I'm a high school student. I started attending Clear Skies English School when I was in the second grade. When I was an elementary school student, I took part in Christmas parties and Halloween parties. In my class, I sang a lot of songs. Through the songs and parties, I learned about American culture and I cound practice English naturally.
When I was a junior high school student, I usually studied a lot of vocabulary and practiced speaking in long sentences. I thought my Clear Skies English School lessons would be different from my high school lessons, but I was wrong. To tell the truth, they were connected. Since I studied at Clear Skies, I could more easily understand the listening parts of my high school tests and choose the stressed accent of words. And what is even better, I have good reading speed and high comprehension.
Clear Skies English School is a place where I could grow up. There is no limit to how much you can grow. It all depends on you. This environment made me like English. The best thing is Michelle, my English teacher. She understands all the students and she loves her students. She is a wonderful teacher. I have great respect for her.
Clear Skies is a place where we can improve our conversation skills and grow as a person. I love Clear Skies English School! -Natsumi, 2012 July |

I studied English at Clear Skies for six years. I started to study English at this school with my brothers when I was in the sixth grade. (We were preparing to live overseas short term.)
At first, I was very nervous and it was not fun to speak English. When I was a junior high school student, I think I didn't speak English so much because there were few boys in the class.
After I entered high school, I tried to speak English in the class and came to feel relaxed in the class. So, I could enjoy speaking with Michelle in English at Clear Skies.
It was a very good experience for me. Last year, I took Eiken for the first time and passed level two with a high score. I think I could do well on the reading test because I practiced speaking a lot. Soon, I'm going to Tohoku University.
Do your best, Clear Skies students! -Shun, 2011 March
[Manager's Note: We are also very proud of Shun because his Eiken Interview score was excellent.] |
